Love Never Fails
-Corinthians 13:7
The world's ways are abort, divorce and cop
out. God's ways are
Commit, Submit
and Don't Quit.
I was recently blessed by an email from a
former client who wanted to let us know that she had taken that
counsel to heart, and as a result had succeeded in restoring her
marriage, making it to the top 2% of her company's sales force, and
they are now getting ready to build a brand new home.
This formula is the key to success in
business as well as in marriage. I can't tell you how often I
felt like quitting when things got rough between Penny and myself.
It seemed like things would never change. Whenever we started
talking about real issues things would seem to get worse instead of
better. "Why bother?" was the prevailing thought. But divorce
wasn't an option. We had closed that back door in our minds. There
was no way out. First, we had to commit to the goal of restoration.
Then we had to submit to doing whatever it would take to make it
happen. Then we had to persevere working through the issues, trying
to communicate, getting angry, asking forgiveness, then doing it all
over again. It was tough. But we didn't give up. We didn't cop out.
We didn't divorce. By our choice and God's power we persevered, and
God brought us through. Hallelujah! That's one trip I never want to
go on again. But what we have now is so worth the price. It's
great! But we never would have seen it had we quit. Thank God we
didn't. Persevere. Commit, submit and don't quit. It works!
Question For The Both of Us:
When are some of the times I feel like quitting? When are some of
the times that you feel like quitting?
Prayer
for both of us:
Lord, help us to put this formula for success to work. Help
us to commit, submit and not quit until we see the fulfillment of
your promises, and your glory.
