The Bible tells us that God's
entire family, in heaven and in earth
derives
its name from "Father." And yet, God trusts us to
share
His name with us. What an awesome
privilege, and yet what a
great responsibility!
We see all of God's creative order
beginning
and flowing out of the word, "Father." When
we
reflect the nature and character of our
Heavenly Father all is in
right order; we enjoy
fullness of joy, and life more abundantly.
When
we do not reflect the nature of God we see every
kind of
dysfunction and disorder. Why do you
think our pop culture
always makes a point of
denigrating the role of the Father?
It's
because the spirit that drives pop culture
(evolution, secular
humanism, etc.,) is
anti-God and anti-Creation. All of
Creation
derives from the "Fatherhood" of God.
It is from our Father in
heaven that we find
the source of our very existence, not
some
primordial slime that drifted out of the
ocean. As we celebrate
Father's Day let us
again lift fatherhood to its rightful place
of
prominence so that we will see order, peace
and prosperity in
the lives of our own
children, and even in our nation. We can
do it,
if we will kneel before our Father to receive His
heart of
love and courage. It's a great
privilege, and an awesome
responsibility. Let's
do it.

Us: Do we really appreciate, or even
understand the significance of "Fatherhood."
How can we elevate its place of importance in our
family?
Prayer For The Both of
Us: Lord, help us to appreciate
the
awesome privilege and the great
responsibility of Fatherhood.
Help us to
reflect the Father heart of God to our children
and
to
others. |
